They could still do some sort of event... but without the actual ride part.
Defeats the point I know, but something could still be possible (though I doubt it will go ahead if the ride doesn't reopen)

Leaking fluid? The vehicle doesn't store any fluid so I'm not sure what it could possibly be leaking.

I heard a couple of years ago that the chain lift was on its last legs and was running on a bodge-job, crazy to think it’s gone in the last week!

Shockwave has ratchet restraints not hydraulic, I’m pretty sure there isn’t any fluid involved with these. Happy to be corrected if I’m wrong though!

spoke to a staff. It’s been tested and working fine. But it’s remaining closed until the event as it’s on its last legs as we know.
Required work to the lift hill and the train as well. Was touch and go if it would even run again this season.

Shockwave has ratchet restraints not hydraulic, I’m pretty sure there isn’t any fluid involved with these. Happy to be corrected if I’m wrong though!

They do drain something off of the trains at the end of each day, you can see them getting the tanks out if you are on the last ride, they are stored at the base of the baggage hold. I suspect it is most likely a damping fluid for the height adjuster, rather than a primary part of the restraint mechanism.

Yeah it caught me by surprise as we were there and was told the above at the morning.
It closed a few times for 30 mins throughout but the park was dead overall so wasn’t stressed much. Was good to get a last run!

Loads of flashing flights and 90s music along with loads of signs and pictures of the history of Shockwave have been added to the queue for The Last Stand event, actually makes me a bit emotional Shockwave is ending

Also row 2 seems to be permanently out of action. Guessing due to the breakdown last week but glad they did get it going again for The Last Stand
