Any rumours on what they’re actually doing in there yet? Other than auctioning off some pieces?
 
The auction catalogue was emailed to people who emailed to confirm auction attendance.

I wonder if there is plans for something else - we will find out i'm sure .

I zoomed in on 1 of the pictures from the former queue line and the Air gates are still in place and is that 1 of the boats In the station?
 
That’s why I think the ride layout will stay the same and as the building there and working from a shell you could get a ride build for maybe a couple of million.
Having the entrance still there also makes me think there got plans for the building and using the old entrance again.
 
I assume the boats once in the trough were propelled by the flow of the water with only the lift hill and drop being actual tracked parts? If this is the case then I imagine the trough could be reused quite easily for a similar ride. Just guessing though.

As long as it’s not another Thomas land ride!
 
It will definitely be difficult to use the building again for something else, given the fact that the entrance has to stay where it is due to the building being set back from the park, the fact that there is clearly something on the ground floor of Pirate Adventure hence the ramp climbing up, and the fact that the small upper section couldn't really be used for much else again.

It will certainly be difficult to repurpose the building for much else other than a free flow, unless of course they decide to disuse the upper section completely and have an entrance from Thomas Land behind Rocking Bullstrode into the lower section of the ride... There is no way of entering from the main park other than through the main entrance, which clearly uses ramps to gain height to avoid something on the ground level of the building.

Not to mention that the ride clearly used a lot of concrete from looking at the auction catalogue, it looks like the scenery was built on concrete, and the concrete then dropped into the water filled sections, that's a lot to fill or remove if they wanted to repurpose the building. Don't think it'd be worth it myself.

The tracked parts are the drop, the unload section, the lift to bring the boats from the unload to the load station, and the load station itself. The rest is just pumps at the bottom of a metal trough, I presume from looking at other similar ride systems.

There's been an all around positive reception to Gangster Granny: The Ride at Alton Towers, this clearly shows that there is a demand for a family dark ride in the UK, and Drayton could certainly out do Alton Towers with the space they have inside Pirate Adventure, let alone with a far superior ride system. Gangster Granny builds the dark ride hype in the UK Industry ready for Drayton, if anything....

Last time I went passed on the train from Thomas Land the equipment for moving boats in and out was still there, so they either haven't removed it yet or it will be re-purposed.

Gangsta Granny: The Ride looks to have a very small footprint, and with it expected to feature screens and projection mapping (which I doubt costs too much) heavily, I can easily see something like this take the spot of Pirate Adventure, and it wouldn’t need to take up it’s entire space to be good, so the leftover space could be used for an indoor Thomas Kand expansion with a few rides.
 
I think it maybe a storage/maintenance area for the bumper cars.
I know at the top of the ramp before you turned right there’s a maintenance door on the left. After you left the boat the boat would drop back down into the water then turn right and go straight for a little bit then must turn right again. To go back up into the station. Would love to see how they put boats on and off the ride as I know this was by the pirate getting hit on the head.
How much did it cost up add the Gruffalo ride at Chessington?

Some of the props were in a bad state like the holes in the pirate who use to go under water then rise up and soak you.
They were using it to store the HB toys inside as roughly 2017 they had left the door partly open and I put my head a round it was full of toys and could see the pirate above.

Drayton Talk were also lucky enough to be invited on site in the past week to take a look at the auction assets before the auction. Unlike Shawn, we were unable to capture any images from this preview.

It truly is a humbling experience to enter the building once again, and the assets for the auction are truly fabulous to see.
 
I like Shawn and him and Charlotte are a lovely couple but Shawn been warned about putting stuff on you tube before a event has finished just to get his hits in on you tube before anyone else.
How far up the queue line were you able to see?

It’s likely that Shawn was given permission to release his video ahead of the auction.

Drayton Talk were allowed into the opening ‘porch’ and up the first ramp of the queueline. It was a very surreal experience.

I’m so jealous! Is the entrance porch and ramp still fully intact then? It was a little difficult to tell from the video.
 
I’m not sure what the average age on forums now but it’s really sad to get guests to theme parks now you got to have IP’s. It’s good that Drayton done there own story for the Haunting and Sheriff showdown but with Pirate Adventure, Jungle cruise and the Jungle Palladium it was what made Drayton great in the 80s and early 90s.
