I often wondered why Drayton manor didn’t install a decent ghost train ride after removing the crypt? I mean, now that they have a huge empty warehouse doing nothing…

I think as they had the haunting they thought they didn’t need another haunted attraction. The crypt building was the original plan for the 4D cinema as after the building was emptied and pulled down just the outer building was built.
I wasn’t a fan of the haunting. I went on it once after it opened and was bitterly disappointed by what I thought was basically a big swing, like hex at Alton towers. I know people do like it though. Maybe if I went on it now I’d think differently but I haven’t been to Drayton manor since 2006. My ex wife didn’t like theme parks!

I think the answer is that they had The Haunting so didn't need another.
I don't think we would ever see a new ghost train at Drayton with the new Family focus - however we may get another dark ride ( I am hoping!)
If anything, we'd probably get something like Mischief Mansion at Flamingoland now as a "ghost train"
