Ride access with limited mobility

Hi all.

I'm 46 years of age with gammy legs. I use a crutch to help me hobble about the place, and would like to know how this will impact my ability to go on the rides

I visited recently on one of the free entry days and was hoping to see someone in a similar situation to me. Unfortunately I didn't witness anyone that uses a crutch to help with walking going on any of the rides.

I assume that I can just Queue as normal, then board the ride and hand my crutch over to one of the ride operatives, who will then hand it back to me after the ride ends?

I know this probably sounds like a silly question, but we live in a silly world these days - and I just need some clarification of how it works before I buy my annual pass.

Thanks in advance.

ps - I did sent an email to DM, but they've yey to reply - hence my question here.

So, your best bet might be to go to Guest Services and get a risk assessment, just to check you'll be able to get on each ride safely. You may also be able to get an easy access pass, if you sign up for a nimbus card!

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping it was more simple than this. Is it not possible to Queue as normal and just pass my crutch over to a ride op and have them give it back after the ride completes? I'm not sure I'd even qualify for a nimbus card, as I'm not officially disabled. My legs are a bit squiffy because I had DVT twice in a year and my legs never fully recovered and I now need a crutch to help me get about.

It honestly depends, because some rides require you to walk down a lot of stairs (from stormforce 10 or the wave) in case of an evac but if you're comfortable doing that then you could just queue, it is just something that could happen. But the ops will happily take the crutches from you and store them in the baggage holds

I think you’d be absolutely fine.

Some of the rides such as Gold Rush, Blasting Barrels, The Haunting, Accelerator, Jormungandr, Sleipnir, Thor, Stormforce 10, The Wave, Maelstrom, and River Rapids do have stairs involved, but I think you’d be fine.

I’ve seen Ride Operators place others’ crutches in a safe place and hand them back at the end of the ride. I assume you’d just need to ask them beforehand, so they know to come and help.

As the previous post said, some of the larger rides will require you to walk down stairs if there is an evacuation.

This should be totally fine :)
However, we cannot provide a fully accurate response.
If the email has not been responded to, they may have a backlog but will get back soon. I would recommend messaging them via facebook for the best response times.
