Original Dinosaur Land

Does anyone else remember the original dinosaur land next to the reptile house?

You used to have to pay 20p to get in.

I remember it only too well. In 2004 and 2005, I went around during the closed season (they left the gate open) and took a tonne of photos on an SLR of the place.
Here's a picture from 2004 of the T rex there, which now exists in the Dino Trail with a complete repaint.

There were older models of Dinosaurs that this replaced that date back to the 70s, (I think 75 or 76, around the same time the Jungle Cruise opened I'm sure). You could tell them apart from the 'newer' ones straight away. I believe the dinosaur behind the T rex in the background is one of them. Just like the Victorians, back then people seemed to assume dinosaurs stood about 30 foot in the air on their hind legs and looked like big lizards ?. When this T rex was added I'm not sure.... some time in the 90s I'd guess. I think it was 2010 or 2011 that the newer Dino Trail opened.
I possibly do have more yeah. Might take a while to find them though

With recent dinosaur themed additions come to UK parks over the last 5 years being of a high quality (e.g. Lost Kingdom, Land of the Living Dinosaur) and the theme ideal for Drayton’s #TargetMarket, do you think they will invest in some animatronic dinos soon? Not needed but if the whole Lost Kingdom package cost Paultons £9 million, then surely they can get the animatronics for a small price?

I remember the old Dinosaur Land, seen as some of the models are from Dinosaur land maybe they have more they could bring through but maybe theyve taken all the good ones to Dino Trail now. Would love to see them do something with that building now you come to mention it.
