I didn’t realise they had 2 Thomases other ways to see differences one has grey things on the front the other is black and the whistle is bronze on one and yellow on the other

It’s hard to know long term where they see Thomas land as expect the new ride and the toilet block that got burned down it’s only had minimal work done to it. Like you only have to go to Paulton’s park and Peppa pig world still looks brand new as it’s painted every closed season.
I fear DM is going to go the same way as Pleasurewood Hills. I've seen a pattern. Looping buy parks that are struggling financially. They buy at below the market value. They make a few Token investments during the first few years of ownership. Then sit back whilst the profits roll in. When the profits start falling they cut staff numbers to counteract the fall. A few years on, when they're no longer profitable, they sell the place on. :-(
Token investments? They've reinvented the park. No disrespect to Pleasurewood Hills, but Drayton is a completely different level. They've also invested heavily in the Safari Park and now purchased Waterwold. I can see these 3 attractions being their main focus, covering most areas on the leisure industry and all relatively close together.
Also they did invest in a new water ride recently to Thomas Land and relocated both Terrance Driving School and Exhibition to the main Thomas area it does leave the back portion barren though
They may have not installed any new rides this year but they installed the water,fire and projector show. As well as the surround sound system around the lake.
They had so many firework shows this season and late night openings as well as other improvements around the park.

We did get 8 firework displays this year - I saw 6 of 'em
They were very good - even the ones we couldn't see sounded fantastic! (I have a video of that entire display that we couldn't see)
I assume it was titanium that did them? Pleasurewood hills used them. Stands to reason DM used the same company? That's the company that does the NYE display in London.
Cost per display? I'm guessing 15-20k? Multiplied by 8 = last years profits reinvested. : )

The trouble being - Theme Parks are not profitable. Water parks are profitable. Take a closer look at Loopings portfolio. It's mostly water parks and small themeparks.
DM is by far the biggest park they own. Unfortunately, they don't have the funds to keep DM running as a theme park in the long term. :-(
They've bitten off more than they can chew. They only bought the place because it was bankrupt and got it on the cheap.
The first thing they did was change the name. It's now a Resort. Very large park they bought - now a resort. That's a clue for their long term plans for Drayton. I suspect long term plans don't involve a theme park when it's no longer profitable. I suspect it will be turned into a Center Parcs type place in the future....

It was manufactured by German company Metallbau Emmeln, and is their Parkexpress 6000 model.
I don’t think 2014 Thomas has been out since may or something like that, I’ve been so much (basically every weekend) and haven’t seen it ever since

A few differences
The lamp irons (sticking up bits below face) are grey on 2008, but black on 2014
The white dot on 2014’s eye pupils is tiny
The fake coupling on the front is grey on 2008, but red on 2014
