Balloon Race

Debuted in 1987, the Balloon Race was a Zamperla Balloon Race which operated similarly to a Wave Swinger, but large four seater baskets were used. The ride operated all the way until 1997 where it was then sent back to Zamperla in Italy, and after a few years the Balloon Race's area was then replaced by Maelstrom.

The Balloon Race was the large 12 car version.

The balloon ride was just like the Flying Dutchman ride but was more used with families so they could ride together. After it’s removed in 1997 it was replaced by the flying Jumbos until the end of the 2001 season with Maelstrom opening in 2002.

It’s very similar, although from memory it had a bigger footprint and it would rise up higher than James and the red balloons.

From 1997 to 2007 the park already had another ride like James and the red balloon. The balloon ride would rise up and when it got to top would tilt at 45.

When I got home I looked at the picture better and I mixed it up with the model that was at Camelot theme park when it was called Falcon's Flight.
