Paulton’s Park

Taking my children here in a few weeks so thought I’d start a thread! Paulton’s is mostly known for Peppa Pig world, but the park has so much more to offer in my opinion, I honestly think they have the best selection of family coasters in the uk. My kids are on the shorter side, and there aren’t many theme parks where they can go on every single coaster, and almost every single ride they have to offer. They love Drayton but I think they will enjoy Paulton’s even more if I’m honest.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on this park? I think they are one of the most exciting theme parks in the UK right now, Tornado Springs looks absolutely fantastic and they are already adding a new kids coaster for next year. With Cyclonator, it seems like they are branching out slightly to cater to the older kids and adults in the family which is great to see.

Amazing park for kids. We spent a day in the Peppa area and a separate day exploring the rest with a bit more Peppa to end the day. The whole park was spotless when we went and I think the ride offering is brilliant.

I'd love Thomas Land to get a kids boat ride (Sailing Club) or a similar ride to Windy Castle, my kids loved both of them.

That’d be a great addition to Thomas land. Something that doesn’t involve spinning around relentlessly for a change?

We took my eldest to Paultons a few years back mainly for Peppa Pig World and really enjoyed it, it’s a very well kept park, I think I prefer PPW to TL. It’s just better themed. Neither of my kids are interested in Peppa now so I think most of our 2 days will be spent exploring the main park. They are coaster fiends.

It was day 1 of our Paulton’s visit yesterday and it was busy, they are sold out for the week, but queue times were still quite reasonable. I have no idea how they manage to not have ridiculous queue times to be honest when it seems so busy but it’s fantastic. PPW is the busiest area of the park where queues can be 40mins or more for some rides. I guess that area is still the parks main attraction.

The Caterpillar coaster was the ride we ended up queueing the longest for believe it or not. I’m not sure why but the staff on that ride seemed really slow and disorganised. Everything seemed much more efficient on practically every other ride.

Tornado Springs is just ? * chefs kiss * best themed area in the uk hands down. It’s not massive but not tiny, just the right size imo and the soundtrack is great, details are great. It’s just great. We got on Storm Chaser twice and it really is a fun coaster. It goes faster than it looks. Super fun coaster. Can’t wait to go on it again tomorrow, it never really had long queue times throughout the day which I find so bizarre (in a good way) for a brand spanking new ride

Kids loved the driving school, cars are easy for little ones to operate and there’s a little video you can watch in the queue line before you go in which tells you all you need to know. Bought them ‘licenses’ afterwards and it was £20 for 2. A little steep but they get a cool lanyard too. They get their pic taken near the beginning of the queue and then you get a receipt which you take into the shop afterwards.

I went on Cyclonator alone as my kids aren’t quite at 1.2 yet. Loved it, felt like I was practically upside down at one point. I’d love to see more rides like this at Paultons, there seemed to be a constant stream of people going on it so hopefully that is a good sign for the future in terms of more thrilling/intense rides as there is clearly a demand for it. Nearly pulled a muscle trying to climb into the seat as I am vertically challenged myself and the seats are quite high, I bet the operators get some laughs at the expense of people trying to climb into those seats?

The station building for their new coaster ‘Farmyard Flyer’ looks almost done. No track as of yet. I don’t think this coaster will be anything too amazing as I think it will be aimed more at younger children, but still great to see them working on a new addition already.

My favourite coaster I think was Flight of the Pterosaur. Another one that goes faster than it looks. Solid ride, wish it was a little longer though.

Cobra is one of the older coasters but it’s a goodie. Just wish that area of the park had a bit more about it as whilst it’s pleasant enough, there’s no themeing or atmosphere.

Did the log flume, it’s a decent enough ride but again has zero theming or charm. Nice way to cool off at the end of a hot day though.

Really looking forward to today. Plan on visiting the splash park for the last hour of the day before heading home.

Today was another fabulous day, busy but we still got on loads. Had some rain but that didn’t seem to deter people. I won’t waffle on too much but here are some photos I took from around Tornado Springs, mostly featuring Storm Chaser because it’s such a nice ride to take pics of.

Can’t wait to take my son who loves Peppa pig and my daughter can’t wait to ride the big rides as she was 2 when we last took her.
I’m sure you’ll have a fab time, even though it was busy they seem to manage it well. I don’t think I saw queues reach 60mins for the entire time I was there.

Legoland Windsor are closing their River Rapids Viking Splash in a few weeks. As you know Paultons Park are opening a Water Ride next year. This is thought to be a River Rapids. I think Paultons have purchased Viking River Splash and are opening it as there new ride.

Paulton’s have already announced they having a mini log flume like Drayton Manor installed this year.
Legoland log flume is made of concrete and like be demolished and be used again for the ground work.
