Thomas & Friends Exhibition

It’s good they got expects in to build the new layout and I guess Drayton would have paid them a set fee to get it moved from the farm area and built into a totally new layout but originally with a Late spring opening and then a late summer opening the park is maybe getting a bit angry with them it wasn’t finished for the start of the summer season and given them a deadline to get it up and running and that’s why they gone from having 1 or maybe 2 guys on site to having 10. There 4 weeks left to the end of the summer season but they got a buy out day on the 17th so I guess the park would love to have everything working by then.

Well the original layout took 9 months to build so this might take 9 months aswell. I don't think it will open for September but maybe magical chistmas is my guess

Sorry been a long busy day

As you can see there’s gonna be them press in buttons all around.

It looks amazing so far. It’s in a much better location , you can tell there’s a lot of thought going into where they have moved it to. It’s always felt like a wasted space above winston before they have moved the model from the farm to Thomas land.

Is that Lucinda from the original exhibition?

It all comes down to what Sam Wilkinson wants and he honestly wants as much of the original models in storage to himself as possible for his own tugs displays hence the removal of Drayton Edward ext
I don't really know if there will be a time when Sam Wilkinson or Sean O'Connor will request the Hara Model Railway Museum to send the Thomas props back to England for storage since some of the engines were made back in the 80's and 90's and could end with some major damage and need some restoration. (those engines being Donald, Douglas, Bill, Ben Oliver and Mavis).

So I have to ask this. Who is Sam Wilkinson?

Sorry, my only knowledge of Thomas is from when I watched the series as a child and the limited knowledge of which engine is which from my Thomasland travels.
He was the railway consultant for the CGI series and he is now placed in charge of the Thomas models and the TUGS models (from Thomas's sister series made by the same production crew from Thomas)
You can read about him here: https://ttte.fandom.com/wiki/Sam_Wilkinson https://tttecommunitycentral.fandom.com/wiki/Sam_Wilkinson
