We visited yesterday our first visit in around 5-6 weeks..
Firstly, our son has been so close to being 1.3m the last few visits he was excited to see if he had finally reached the magic number upon going to guest services.
Got him measured and he was just over! Means he could go on Maelstrom finally as he has been waiting for so long to go on..
He was just over by a tiny margin, so the ladies in GS gave him the 1.3 wristband
we headed straight to Maelstrom, and I still cant quite believe what happened next..
The ride attendant (not sure of name but he was very tall and had a tattoo of quagmire from Family Guy) measured him (even tho he has the 1.3 band on) and point blank refused to let him on. "I'm not sure he is big enough, I will have to measure him again" so he measures him TWICE using different things and he's over by the same margin but still refused to let him on. "This is ridiculous" I say and he tells me that he has to go and phone his boss to see what they say...few mins later he comes back and tells us that we have to go back to GS to get him measured AGAIN...which is quite frankly ridiculous..so off we go back to GS and they asked what we were doing back, explained..same lady measured him again, her colleague then measures him, and even she says the same,.hes over 1.3, by a small margin but he's still over..I tell them that the guy said he had phoned his boss and they then radio someone called Josh who then measures him himself and he confirms that he's over 1.3. This is the 4th different person that has measured him at this point and in total has wasted around 40 minutes of our day...Josh then proceeds to escort us back to Maelstrom and then asks the attendant what he's playing at because he is clearly 1.3 or GS wouldn't have given him the 1.3 band to begin with.
absolute madness.
I've mentioned this before, but again, the sheer amount of people just walking around the park smoking and vaping without a care in the world is just awful and something needs to be done about it.
Ride availability was quite good, Bounty was down all day (not sure why or how long its been down for in total).
Stormforce 10 closed at some point in the afternoon and I dont think it reopened at all (it hadnt by the time we left at 6pm).
Whilst we were almost at the front of the queue for the wave, that also went down, it got jammed just as it was leaving the station and people were stuck on it for almost an hour and had to be evacuated
We left at 6pm and the train hadnt moved from that position from when it got stuck at around 3pm...
