The only rides closed yesterday were River Rapids, Stormforce 10, Sleipnir, and The Bounty. And yes, they’ve started work on the show. There’s a bit of path by the lake between the chippy and Accelerator that’s blocked off which is where they’re working from.
I visited today for the first time in about 2 years. It was great to finally ride Gold Rush, however it’s still only running one train and so I ended up waiting over an hour. The park is looking quite tired in places and I think is really in need of some TLC over winter. There is also so much wood everywhere?! What happened to the theming quality?
There was a lot of ride closures unfortunately, especially in Thomas Land. More did open later in the day, but I think if it’s working then it should be opening with the rest of the park. It’s lazy and doesn’t look good to guests.
The food offering was pretty awful today too. A lot of restaurants were closed or had massive queues. I can only imagine what it would be like during even busier days.
I did see them putting something together on the lake, although I didn’t know what it was until I saw on here they were doing a fountain show. I took a photo which I’ll attach.

Saw a few Pumpkins today, by a few I mean a few Hundred! They're literally everywhere. Kudos for using real Pumpkins, but I don't think they've fully thought this through. Quite a number of them are already being consumed by the local wildlife, and I can guarantee that when Halloween finally arrives there will be nothing left of them! Let's hope they've got a supplier for replenishments - cos they WILL need them!
Apart from the Pumpkins there were several notbale things about today. Once again most of the food and drink outlets were either shut, or were only opened for a limited time. Chicken DIner was shut all day as was Castle Bar. The Chippy was open all day. I went into the Zoo at 1PM and the Pizza place was shut - left the Zoo an hour later and the pizza place was open. Came back around 3PM and as I entered I saw peeps leaving saying that there was no food left! Had a look at the fridge and noticed that the beer situation was very dire - only a few bottles of Budweiser and Desperado left! Drank the first Bud in a matter of minutes, then bought another and went for a wander around the park.
During my wander I noticed something very different about the lake. The water level is atleast 2 feet lower than normal. It was so low that no water was even close to the weir. What's caused this? It can't be storm amy, surely? I though storms increased water levels, not reduce them. Another notable thing I noticed was the big blue wall down by the far end of the park (next to river rapids and the wave) has been removed. I presume this is to give more vantage points of the lake for the Halloween end of day shows? I also went on Polperro Express and during the ride I noticed that there were 5 points along the trip where Pumpkins were strewn on the ground - I'm guessing they were markers of where the interesting parts of Haunted Express will be?

Why was it so busy yesterday? (11th October) It was busier than the Saturdays in August! Does anyone know why?
The fast pass/easy access queues were much longer than usual, which obviously meant the wait times in the normal queues were almost double.
The Pumpkins are in a worse state than last week - massive holes in lots of them. They aint gonna last!
They've dug a trench to lay the cables for the new end of show thing and tarmacked over it. I wonder if this is a permanant instalation?

There's also individual ride closing times on the info boards. That would have been far more useful back in peak season. A good addition, just curious why they chose to implement it now rather than earlier in the season when it would have been more useful?

I know this will sound a bit daft but some of the pumpkins have been getting attacked by squirrels, i follow someone who works at the park and they have been putting videos of the squirrels eating the pumpkins as well as this some pumpkins will have been dropped and damagedWhy was it so busy yesterday?
