2026 event lineup
It's a little surprising that they are not doing anything for the Whitsun holiday in May, or are they just not announcing it yet as it is so big, they are waiting to spring it on us. I doubt it lol
I visited DM on Saturday. The big restart was a complete false start.
I reserved my visit (as we're now expected to do) and was told that the system hasn't been fully updated yet, so no need. Reservation ignored, Annual pass scanned and in I went.
8 of the main rides were out of action. I could list them, but you were all there so you already know! Accelarator was meant to be running, but it got stuck during the morning test run. Freak gust of wind? Gull or Pigeon on the track that got jammed in a wheel? I can't think of another reason why the train was stuck on the curve opposite the station.
A few more minutes walking around the park and it soon became apparent that the park simply wasn't ready to be open.
I think this explains why!
2 months later and the position still hasn't been filled. Maybe this is why they're behind schedule?
I spent most of the day just walking around and joining queues just to hear the announcement that the ride was experiencing technical issues. I'm not kidding - everytime I waited it kept happening. One case was the wave. I waited 15 minutes, then left and waited underneath. Waited for the announcement that it was up and runnning again and rejoined the queue The ride did 3 cycles before the next tech issue!
The queue on GoldRush was on the hill. Not an option for me. I struggle to walk down that bit, so I can't be standing there waiting for the queue to move so I didn't bother.
Zoo time.
The Meerkat's have had 3 new pups. Yes, they have pups not kittens. They're super cute. Seeing them was by far the best part of a bad day.
Dodgems: WTF? They've put some strange substance on the ground that is slowing the cars down
I don't know if this is intentional or if it's some mess that they need to clear away? Either way it is making the cars move slower.
Adventure Cove: My favourite part of the park. Water rides were not on. I get that, it's probably down to cold weather. Those 2 rides are the most expensive to run so it's understandable that they weren't operational. Maelstrom has a massive cherry picker parked next to it. That thing is quite large, which leads me to believe that they need to replace something on top of the ride?
I didnt go on many rides but I still had 2 fast pass tickets left over from previous visits. It was around 6pm so I decided to use them. The plan was to go on the wave, then goldrush and then watch the end of day show.
This is when it went a bit pete tong!
I was in the fast pass queue for the wave. A group of 4 teenagers were walking up the stairs. I heard them saying that they were going to try to jump the queue. When they arrived I refused to let them past. The ring leader of the group managed to barge himself past me. When the dummy realised that he wasn't getting on the ride he walked back and passed me. A verbal encounter ensued. It got quite loud. Thankfully security were on scene almost instantly and witnessed the group verbally threatning me. They said they were going to wait outside until I left and they were going to do me over. Or words to that effect. Security removed them from the park. I was still in the queue at this point - I was in shock and couldn't think straight. Do I stay here and go on the ride, or walk down the stairs? I didn't know what to do - I eventually made my way down the stairs and thankfully the security crew were there waiting for me.
I was given several options as what to do next, but to be honest my head was scrambled and I didn't know what to do. I just followed them out of the park. (i had to ask them to slow down, cos my knackered legs couldn't keep up!) We headed towards Frontier Falls and went through the medical centre then walked up to where the security truck is parked next to the bike fence. Guess what? The peeps that they removed were right next to us! I took pictures for evidence. They spotted that and caused another scene. Once that was sorted I got in the truck and we went for a ride around the block. We went down the main road, took a left towards Fazeley Square, then went down the Zoo road, then re-enterd the park via the entrance near the island oppossite the main house (The Spinney) . We drove up through the park up near the old main entrance (the top of Frontier Falls) and that's where I got back in DM.
It was almost 7pm at this point. The security guy asked for my name. His name was Marshal. We parted ways and I went to watch the end of day show.
So that was that..
Rubbish day, but the security team need some recognition. They went above and beyond. They have my full respect and gratitude.
ps - Forgot to mention; The Castle lake water levels are lower. What's going on there?

yup. That was me.
Maybe they supported the other team and that's why they kicked off? lolYeah we were coming up the stairs when the 1 lad was really swearing at you and offering to fight you. Was gonna talk to u after the fountain end show as we were at the front but saw you standing by the band stand but when the final song finished u had already moved. It was nice of the staff to stick up for you but where was the security.yup. That was me.
