I thought it was being moved, they wouldn’t do all that just for maintenance. They’ve took the whole ride apart

Structure may have needed maintenance - or the internal parts. They did the same to the carousel the other year, totally stripped it down.
It's not uncommon to do with small rides like this.

Looks like it is staying put for now, has needed a new cabin for a while so thats nice to see investment securing the future of a unique ride like this.

They kind of themed the booth and the motor room to suit to the western theme. In the long term the ride doesn’t fit the theme.

Perhaps next year? On the website it’s listed on the full ride lineup but not part of FF - let’s come back here next year and see

It’s probably too old to move I can imagine it wouldn’t be a simple job and is probably more cost effective where it is.

Can’t understand if it’s not moving than why it’s not been painted to fit the area better.

I think Flying Dutchman could be on its way out its an old ride and the Wave Swinger kind of fulfils that ride type.

The problem is the wave swinger has a minimum height of 1.0m but the Flying Dutchman only height limit is 1.0m to ride Alone.

Wave Swinger in Adventure Cove is just a new and better ride. It's the same basic ride and it's also more fun to ride.

I'm 47. I didn't go on this this ride when I was a kid. It was considered a kiddy ride 40 years ago, and it's still the same now.

Is it time to let it go?

A Zamperla Big WaveZ could work as a replacement give them a family thrill drop tower with added bonus of being a water ride and could be themed to an oil rig to fit into Frontier Falls
