What's new

Is Drayton Manor going to get big overhaul over winter or will it continue being poor.

We can all agree Drayton Manor has had a poor 2026 season with ride availability, park looking tired, poor ops.

We also know there is a lot of management changes and following a QnA sounds like the new staff do have some passion and experience in running parks.

So for the 2027 season do with think the park is going to receive some major TLC, we have already had some changes later on this season, there are still improvements to be made. And with rides beginning Winter Strip down now could be a sign they are planning to do a lot.

Drayton even under the Brian’s had always been a park that’s always trying to improve and yesterday was my 1st visit since the 1st
August and so much has been done in 3 weeks since the park only open 3 day a week and them doing the Thomas land rides now they can crack on with the main park in November. I really do think they need a new ride for 2027 even if it’s a flat ride.

Pirate Adventure probably could be done quite quick, if the ride is still their that could be marketed as a new ride

I think the big difference they need to really look at for next season is their food and drink offerings.
Like for starters as we been to Thorpe and Alton Towers this year they have unlimited vessels for £18 and they can be reactivated for £12.
Now to get more Annual pass sales they offer the vessel for free but you just pay for a day of refills but you get 20% off the price so if Drayton charge £10 to reactivate pass holders pay £8.
As for food offerings they should be trying to get visitors to visit the hotel restaurant which has freshly cooked meals.
They also need to offer a better selection of sandwiches and salads.

They should reopen the Smokehouse that used to be in the building at the back of Gold Rush, but also several Cafe's throughout the park including Frontier Falls and Thomas Land near Knapford.

The trouble is with the hotel it’s more fancy food with a high price. I understand that they have overheads and outsourcing food but if the food was more homely they might do more in sales.

Soooo you do know the eco cup Drayton offers is effectively £2 and the refills are £3 each (+30p for normal Coca Cola) and you can bring the cups back? This is on average wildly cheaper than the Towers setup (oh and they also offer annual pass 20% off so like £4.18 for the cup and first fill then like £2.50 a fill… so for cup and first fill plus like 4 refills that’s like £14.80 for 5 drinks with annual pass, then on a future visit that’d come down to like £10 for 4 refills as you already have the cup)

I wonder how many folk don’t realise it’s a refillable cup similar to Towers just you pay per refill rather than a bulk upfront price?!!

I got over 10 of them at home now. Many I picked up as guests have left them on walk ways back to the car park.
Now my biggest problem is when you go to buy a meal deal in the restaurants you get a cup included with the meal but I had brought 1 of them from home but the price is the same if you have another mug or not.
Also the price of them is very good and have used them in the past but having no lid on really does my head in as you got to drink them before your allowed on ride platforms just in case they spill or get knocked over. Now they could design a version of this as the hot version has a lit and is unlimited hot drinks all day.

Can’t disagree about the lid situation, I found a push in lid from a coffee travel cup whilst in home and bargains a while back that does the job nicely, I’ll try and dig it out as I’ve lost it somewhere between my bag, the car and the kitchen sink haha but it’s something I think could be improved.
