Will the PA building now stay like that or have a modern replacement

That remains to be seen so far there's nothing confirmed to what they may do.

I believe that they will now push the building ahead on their plans though as there may be other damages which are in need of assesment from the wind

I wonder if during the closed season they will knock the whole of the frontage off as a safety precaution.

Seems likely - bit odd to leave one half on like that. (Also safer, less likely to continue damaging)

More of the brick building as seen exposed on the missing corner the "rockwork" style front is all covering a normal brick building.

The wind has been quite heavy here to be fair. This does highlight the state the façade of the aging attraction must be in. It would not surprise me if we see the other turret removed. I think we will see this area of the park as perhaps the next major investment area.

Oh no!! So sad to see it like that. But it does show that the facade wasn't in a great state, I wonder if it was because of the ivy? If they want to keep Pirates Cove, they probably need to rebuild the facade from the ground up. Hope they save the sign though.

With only 1 last day of the year left and the park closed to the 10th Feb can see the team who’s currently working on the Western theming moving over to the pirate adventure building and taking the whole of that frontage back to the brick work and have it temporarily covered over to protect the main building from the winter months.
The weight of all that Ivy would have helped to weaken the frontage over the years.

The façade was built with some polystyrene type of yellow material, you can see it in some of the photos actually. I suspect the ivy had nothing to do with it as Trooper Looper suggests. More so 30+ years to the elements and minimal maintenance in that time has taken it's toll.

Yeah, we've had some pretty heavy weather incidents at time, some have been pretty short lived but pretty violent all the same.

As Elise has said you can imagine that it will lead to a reordering of works and developments.

First priority though is to see that the building won't cause damage to itself, to people or to the balance sheet.

Interesting that they used brick for that part of the building, ie, the entrance foyer. The rest of the building is corrugated sheet metal, which also has theming pieces attached to it, in parts.

The facade definitely needs major repairs, but I won't lie, I'd be sad to see that iconic facade go. It's either rebuild the whole facade to fit in with Pirates cove, or take it down and cover it with temporary fencing.

For 2024 it'll most likely be removed/covered over and reviewed at a later date (due to the park focus being the top of the park at the moment )

The looping group have proven with a great design team behind them and the right contractors they can turn a 1950’s theme building to a Wild West theme and they just put wood over the old theming so now if they remove all the frontage back to the brick work and with the use of wood they could easily change the theme of the building to suit a whole new theme.
They could easily have the best year yet which could easily fund a new dark ride and theme the area to suit for the 2025 or 26 season.

With the whole area around it Pirate themed, Jolly Buccaneer, Bounty, Dodgems Ahoy, etc, I doubt a new theme would go well, besides, pirate themes are very popular. Personally, I'd rather see a modernised version of Pirate Adventure reopen, like what happened to Pirate en Batavia when it burnt down a while back and they rebuilt it. Though a new dark ride, Pirate themed or not, especially a large scale one would be very welcomed.

To be honest if it was me I'd leave it like that and make or safe. Make it look likes its been hit my a pirate cannon but obviously make it safe

To me , while they have carpenters on site working at the top of the park, It would make sense to perhaps cover the brick up with some basic wood panelling.
I would say there is high probability that the other side may be removed too before the park opens, it is probably in a similar state to the one that fell.

Lucky it did not happen on a day the park was open. I think they should at least make it look presentable, seeing as it will be a busy season and it is located in such a central location, I am sure they will do something.
