What's new

Pirate Adventure

The stuff you can see in the entrance way of the building is the ice Rink boarding that was last used Christmas 2019.
Them doors haven’t been open since the Auction in Jan 2020 but they don’t as it would be the last section they work on as most of the queue line was saved so will just need some TLC.

Hi one and all, I commented on Theme Park Worldwide’s (Shawn Sanbrooke’s) video about the new area at Paulton’s Park. I directly enquired about Pirate Adventure at Drayton Manor. Here is a screenshot of Shawn’s reply. “The words “there’s definitely something going on with Pirates at Drayton Manor” sounds extremely optimistic for the rides return next year. If nothing else this response confirms that work is currently happening at Pirate Adventure. Whether that is the restoration of the Pirate Adventure or the redevelopment of the building remains to be seen however.

@Themeparksandy1981 and @Elise what do you make of Shawn’s reply to my enquiry?

Does anyone know what the use the main ride area for in Pirates Adventure these days and is it used for storage seems a massive waist of space. At least with Excalibur the castle is used at Christmas
Empty/storage is my guess

Anyone can say anything really, however the only people who can confirm will be the park - who will say something as/when they are ready if/when there is something to say.

Nothing is concrete nor solid until the park themselves reveal an announcement

Give them time and something may (or may not come)

What I do know, is that the site is a very hot topic. The park have reviewed it and looked at it a few times but no solid decisions are made yet.

I wish the park would be open and say if something is or isn't happening with the site to clarify speculation and rumours

They do not need to at this time.
Rumours come and go all the time :) If parks sit and addresse every rumour, it takes away chance of speculation and would be a little boring.
Maybe they like the speculation and want to see what people think/want to see? ;)

@Elise the rumours surrounding Pirate Adventure are a lot more and from more reliable sources than most. Most of the time Theme Park rumours haven’t come from the employees of the Theme Park, highly knowledgeable YouTubers with insider knowledge and definitely not the CEO of the Theme Park in question. Shawn Sanbrooke heard the rumour from Victoria Lynn the highest up Person involved with Drayton Manor. Most rumours are spread by Theme Park enthusiasts with little to no evidence. Not only are credible sources stating the exact same rumour but renovation work has been seen in and around the Pirate Adventure Building. This includes, sightings of people in High-Visibility Jackets, a Mack Rides box outside of the back entrance, the small and witnessing of fresh paint, the installation of a new lift hill chain, the restoration of one of the exterior turrets and the Boats being sent to Mack for overhauls.

In my eyes this is far more than a slight rumbling of gossip from Theme Park enthusiasts. Even Lift Hills And Thrills has made a full video about the probable return of Pirate Adventure. Sean the Guy who presents the Lift Hills And Thrills YouTube Channel has made such declarations before and they have always been correct.

After watching Shawn’s super fan vlog from Paulton’s it had me thinking that Drayton Manor should have there own version. They don’t need to say what’s going on inside the building but they should at least show a little 30 sec video of a captain and his crew and they been out sailing the world looking for buried treasure for the past 10 years and they now decided to return home and some of there fortune will go on returning there village/town to its former glory for Spring 2026.
Shawn knows what’s going on in that building but can’t say anything to Victoria Lynn announces it 1st then there will be a news update with regular construction updates which will start on the channel from roughly mid to late Summer with a late Spring opening which gives them 9 months.

Time will tell when the tide comes in~ 🌊

I can't say anything more than what I have already. The tides come in when they are ready 🚢 😉

Very true, I think the frustrating part is the not knowing, it's a big part of people's childhoods.

I think we need a gofundme to get it re-opened if they don't go ahead with it. Maybe try and get it registered by English heritage ;)

As in My last post I mentioned a video about ,the possible return of,Pirate Adventure presented by Sean AKA Lift Hills and Thrills,I guess some of you had your ears pricked up. To dull your speculation and suspense I have decided to link it here. This video is presented by Sean who like Shawn Sanbrooke often learns information prior to the rest of us. A prime example is Nemesis Sub-Terra at Alton Towers. Sean was posting videos regarding the likely reopening of Nemesis Sub-Terra a year before its relaunch. Sean said He had heard from sauces but wouldn’t comment further. I feel like this is happening all over again but this time with Pirate Adventure at Drayton Manor. Theme Park Worldwide and Lift Hills and Thrills are extremely credible channels who wouldn’t hint at the return of a SBNO (Standing But Not Operating Ride) without substantial proof to back their claims up.

I honestly think both Shawn Sanbrooke and Sean from Lift Hills and Thrills have been given the heads up by high up people at Drayton Manor. The majority of the rumours both Channels discuss end up happening. I truly believe this is because they know more than they let on rather then big coincidences. The possibilities mentioned by both parties have become reality far too much to be a coincidence. As they say lightning doesn’t strike twice. Using this philosophy one correct prediction could be a coincidence but multiple correct predictions in themselves prove that there is truth behind the speculation.

I know that this is probably not going to be a popular take, especially on a fourm that contains so many enthusiasts, but I think that the park should concentrate a lot more on getting proper customer services messages to all who attend, and potentially will attend, its parks and spend a lot less time curating their own image and relationships with influencers.

I find all this nod and wink stuff really tedious.

I think Shawn wouldn’t be saying the things that his mentioned if they wasn’t anything going into the building for next year. It’s also a ride that can have maybe an overlay for Halloween and Christmas been indoors.
