Pirate Adventure

I think its a safe bet something is going on in their we just don't know since you cannot see the other side of the building. Actually how far back does Pirate Adventure does it remain parallel with the old Excalibur Lake

@Themeparksandy1981 this is a possessive sign that Pirate Adventure may resurrect next Year. While this news is extremely exciting for Drayton Manor and enthusiasts like Ourselves the news will be annoying for Merlin. The return of Pirate Adventure would bring a Disney quality Dark Ride to England, this will no doubt make some of the Dark Rides at the Merlin Theme Parks look bland and cheap. I will admit that a couple of the Dark Rides at Merlin Theme Parks such as Alton Manor at Alton Towers and Deep Sea Adventure at Legoland Windsor are brilliantly presented.

Everytime I see photos of Pirate Adventure and the surrounding area My optimism and belief that the Ride is returning grows. There’s certainly renovations taking place and these along with Drayton Mannor Employees saying things point to the reopening of this amazing Dark Ride.

In the next 3 Months I anticipate teasers and advertising for the reopening of Pirate Adventure will be shared by Drayton Manor.

I reckon the return of Pirate Adventure will be part of an overhaul of Pirates Cove, the area in which it’s situated. If a wider overhaul is done I imagine The Flying Dutchman will be moved from Frontier Falls and relocated to Pirates Cove. With the possible transfer of The Flying Dutchman I think next Year could also see the addition of a new Ride in The Flying Dutchman’s current location within Frontier Falls.

@Themeparksandy1981 in your view is Pirate Adventure returning to operation next Year?

As great as the ride was and it was great, the ride was no where near the quality of the Disney Pirates rides and never was. Not even close. They are in a league of their own, especially the one in Paris. I am guessing you have never ridden one? If not, you should, they are truly amazing attractions.

Everything from the audio, set design, lighting, FX and animatronics are far far better than anything that was ever at Drayton.

It is no surprise, you get what you pay for. You could probably build the whole of Pirate Adventure from scratch, for the cost of a single Animatroic from the Disney Pirate rides, specifically the auctioneer, which runs into many millions per figure.

Even when you look at construction pictures of the Disney Pirate rides, everything was built out of much higher quality materials, such as concrete and steel for the buildings and rock work, materials that are designed to last. Drayton's Pirates was basically made almost totally of OSB chipboard and cheap molded plastic - no doubt all rotten and degraded by now. It certainly was when I walked around the ride at Drayton 10 years ago.

It doesn't have to be as a good as Disney but be it's own thing. I mainly want it to return for I never did the original bur also it's an additional ride to Drayton adding more capacity to the park.

I never said it did need to be as good as Disney?? If you read the argument that was put forward, it was that Merlin would be annoyed because Drayton would be bringing a Disney quality dark ride to the park. That simply is not true, not only was Pirate Adventure objectively (not subjectively) for away from the quality of the Disney attractions, Loopings most certainly would not have anywhere near the cash to build to the quality of Disney going forward.

The ride is quite high capacity, so it definitely would be needed. I am not so sure about bringing the current boat system back though. It is a very old and outdated system, it could do with being updated somewhat to appeal to modern audiences a little bit I think.

Alton Towers boat ride system was much older than Pirate Adventures was and lasted longer to. Also I think Looping's would have the money to do such a project if a independent park when it was could build Pirate Adventure then a chain with 19 Parks can

I don't even think Looping would have the skill to do Space Leisure/Golding Attraction theming/prop quality if Pirates was to come back.

Until the capabilities to do so is achievable, I'd rather they leave Pirates alone.
Is their a company like Space Leisure or Golding Attraction that can supply the necessary theming. An idea with it being a Mack Rides boat ride system they should consult them as they are experts at theming to

I believe the company was dissolved in 2022, i could be wrong though.
Google says this: No, "SPACE LEISURE LIMITED" is not still an active company; it was dissolved on January 4, 2022. However, a company named "Space Leisure" (with no "Limited" appended) is still active and provides consultancy services for the leisure industry, working with clients like Alton Towers and Europa Park, according to their website
