Pirates Adventure Rumour

The building been repaired and the roof sealed in the closed season of 2022/23.
Are you on about the side of the building? That can be seen by the park? If so, I very much doubt that this is final 😂. If they are spending millions to get the ride going again, they can afford to fix the facade to actually make it fit in. Not just a temporary couple of pieces of wood.

Also do you have any more of your proof for the roof being sealed in the closed season? Would love to know about this!

Pirate Adventure has Pros and Cons to reopening like everthing

Pro's:
Another Ride for the park, Extra Capacity along with being High Capacity itself, Is a long ride something Drayton does lack a good long dark ride, fits current target audience, all weather fun, and queue line is still there albeit requires a good clean and lick of paint. Could be Drayton's Star Ride. And also its glaring gap in the park is the middle section of Drayton Manor.

Con's:
Expensive to repair the building and completely refit the ride, All new theming pieces will have to made to the same quality as the original otherwise it could go down poorly, Would be required to be brought up to safety standard. building itself requires more repairs.

Final question was Pirates Adventure Drayton Star Ride or would you consider, Shockwave and Apocalypse more of a star

It is probably the next investment the park make, i just think people are jumping to conclusions. i really don't think it'll open next year perhaps 2027 onwards.

100% right. I think yes, it will reopen but there is no evidence or anything of it being worked on right now to the amount people are saying.

Pirate Adventure was the 1st real themed ride the park had.
Before the zoo was the main attraction with a amusement park and George and Vera took Colin to Disney world in the mid 70’s and saw a market which no other theme park in the uk so they added the jungle cruise and followed it up with the park mascot getting his own show in the Jungle Palladium. In between that they added flat rides and coasters but they went big with the pirate adventure and I went on that 3 years before I went on pirates of the Caribbean. The queues for it was all ways at the door and the money made from it helped the park open its own themed land as pirate Cove.
The investments went back into the park with splash canyon, Shockwave, Klondike Gold Mine, The Haunting, whole new kids rides and Rory jungle safari as a re-theme of jungle cruise and the following year Stormforce 10.
Them 10 years were the best in the parks History and it all started with Pirate Adventure.

Why did Pirates Adventure close in the first place does anyone have an official reason as to why it closed. Because there were older dark water boat rides that still operate to this day.

Rumours say it failed a H&S inspection and it did have emergency exits but no way to tie the boats up safely if they had to evacuate the ride and that’s why it did open for the 2015 season. Not sure how quick the ride would be drained as I seen in pictures exit stairs in the battle scene. They had spent money on improvements on lighting as a lot of areas were in the dark.

Do we know for sure that it failed a H&S inspection or could it be something else

They would have done the maintenance on the ride during the closed season of 2014/15 and it opened at the start of the 2015 season then closed. Colin and William had the money ready to do the work but the money went missing and it was supposed to have been a non family member who was on the board of directors.

It was in pretty bad shape by that point. Not so much the scenes (although a lot of the animatronics were broken) but the ride system was worn out.

I remember on my last ride the operator literally stood behind the boat at the station and was pushing it with his foot to get it moving

Did anyone ride Pirates Adventure in 2015 what did it ride like that year the final time it operated
I don’t think many would have as it closed within a week of the 2015 main season.
I last rode it for the fireworks event in November 2014 and my daughter was 2.
On the website it was still listed but was under repair.
Think it was sometime in 2016 when it was fully removed off the ride line up and the sign was painted over during the closed season.
