Sheriff's Showdown

It's funny how looking back on older posts on this thread Pre 2020, people seemed to hate Golden Nuggets, but now it's the other way around.

I used to be in the same boat. Just looked at POVs of it wat after it's prime and automatically thought It was rubbish, but after looking at older videos, especially Euro Theme Parks video, it did show a once great interactive dark ride, with good lighting, funny sound effects, great music, and proper competitive.

Did the ride need work in 2017? Yes, absolutely, the lighting looked random and really cheapened the experience, but... Sheriffs Showdown wasn't the right way... sure, remove the sponsor, new scoring system, lights, etc, but that's all it kind of needed looking back now personally. Golden Nuggets looked fun, fast paced, and competitive, while Sheriff Showdown (in my opinion) fails in those aspects, and the only thing keeping that ride apart from something as cheap as Boo Blaster is the wonderful Golden Nugget props and scenery by Space Leisure.

Except the mine scene which was new most of the rest is just the same with the star cloth on the ceiling.
The open plan didn’t help the original ride so they moved some of the props and built new scenes so you couldn’t see the rest of the layout.
The guns on the original was awful and the targets were 2 small to hit.

I’m sure they will get round all the rides that’s not been touched inside since the looping group has taken over but from a business pov new targets and new scenes ain’t gonna get more guests into the park like a new coaster or dark ride would.

On riding today there was an engineer who came in and "reset" the ride. Was told this was because some of the effects had stopped working.

Didn't take long, seconds in fact, but the clearing of the ride and the subsequent safety ride took aroudn 10 minutes.

Studying the scores on the telly it seems that car 4's guns are the most forgiving, car 5 the least.
