The Haunting

Sorry for the double post however just been on and it’s all fine apart from the chapel which is having its usual speaker issues with it being extremely quiet and the loud sound of buzzing as it’s going around.

Hey guys bit of a weird question but dose anyone have ANYTHING from the original story line (more specifically audio) because I'm trying to recreate the haunting at home and I could use some of the audio and music used in the original haunting if you have anything please let me know thank you

3 goes on Haunting yesterday it was all working every time, a highlight was how loud the Cellar audio was in the morning really great in there when the audio is booming and lots of smoke. The Cellar door in the garden is still trying to open and close but is forcing itself shut for some odd reason, maybe a guest has thrown something in it.

Been informed a contractor coming in next month and they gonna remove all the Ivy off the building and cut off the walls like it was done by the entrance gate area.
Also been informed this will be the last year of operation of the trailer as it’s on its last legs. If you remember the ride is 30 years old next year. A new building will be installed during the closed season with work also taking place on the frontage of the building.

Really hope this is true, im assuming during one of the weeks they are closed it'll happen hope it involves cutting down some of the smaller trees on the nuggets side of the facade too. If the trailer needs replacing i hope its done 1:1 or at least keep the original style, also a good opportunity to return it to its original IMR colours and branding if they decide to do that. Really hope the work done to the facade is purely repair work windows, bannisters, repaint maybe?.

I can see it been tweeted as it’s a mixer of the original, 2004,2016,2018 and 2020 versions of the ride.
The ride itself has never looked better but really needs a story line that starts as soon as you enter the queue line to the moment you exit the building.

It would be the easiest to revert it back to the Ghostman version if they wanted to do something quick, i think it would be fantastic if they reverted the entire ride into the 1996 version it seems to me like that was the best and most popular version it was also the most creative.

Whilst i agree it needs tweaked and possibly reverted to one of the versions i don't think forcing a storyline from the get go would do anything good. People just assume its a haunted house from the queue and i think that's enough although if that's not enough then putting the Drayton Parish Board back somewhere could work if the 1996 version is the route they go down.

The Finale of the ride needs some tweaking because the only reactions ive ever seen to the head popping out the tombstone is people laughing, the ride section also needs some new speakers because the ones in there now are really low quality and barley work half of the time.

One thing that definitely needs to go is the AI signage in the courtyard.

Been thinking how they can bring the story back without spending millions on it.
So like Haz said remove the Ai signage and remove the trailer, garden shed. And the RIPA stuff. They can make the trailer to look like they entering the basement and you’re greeted by a 3D projector of Doctor X sitting in a make shift office to the right of the control panel.
You enter the skeleton corridor and it’s the same.
The different now the projector image has been replaced the vicar projector and he says the lines of the original. I would still also keep the other projectors and effects.
Then on the ride I would have a coffin in the middle of the room and the vicar is projector onto the 2 ride support arms of the ride.

Some interesting ideas there, not too sure on the projector part, but you could certainly make use of new scenes without necessarily detaching from the "OG" story.

There's a potential to improve the throughput of the "ride walkthrough" by doing something like that too, if the trailer does indeed end up being replaced, and if the possible new building in that area/space is designed well enough

They will have to cut it up to remove it as it was installed before all the surrounding walls were installed and having a building instead means they can use the exit building to help with the construction.,

I think it’s hidden enough away that it Doesn’t need a retheme to tie into the western area, you can’t even see the facade from anywhere in the park / area if your not actively looking for it. I’m excited and slightly anxious to see what they do next year it’ll probably be the most amount of physical change the ride will have since it opened, I’m just happy it Doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon, but really don’t want the facade to be painted bright red and cladded with wood..
