The Haunting

Lots of effects not working today including portrait projection, screen portraits, smoke, air cannons. The staff we had also gave a house auction story throughout? Very random.

Speakers in the skeleton corridor were very dodgy on Sunday cutting out at certain points in the audio and lots of buzzing, im assuming its been fixed by now but hopefully not a sign of things to come.

Hoping it's the next ride to receive a refresh would be nice if it was altered slightly to fit in within the Western area

I visited yesterday and rode The Haunting in the afternoon.

We were ready for a great ride, with a good, quiet group. However, when we were immersed in the pre-show, the operator stood behind the screen completely ruined the immersion.

At one point, he kept shouting out “Mwwahahaha!” whilst tapping his fingers together, resembling a mad professor. Then, he proceeded to make beeping sounds, it made me cringe! He also made whooping and hollering sounds, and kept repeating lines from the pre-show video. When we walked down the skeleton corridor, he decided to follow us and inform us we’d feel chills down our neck, right over the show!

It completely ruined our experience!

Im all for adding to the immersion, but that sounds like it was completely taking away from the immersion instead... Should be adding to the show and working with the existing, not overriding it like that. (Honestly, let me do a live!Actor overhaul, I'd love to make one that works with the story )

Very odd!

I think all they really need to do is just make a script that the attendants and operators have to follow. The Haunting is the parks most heavily themed ride, and probably most story driven too. Just have more strict rules on how staff can behave on the ride to keep guests immersed.
