2025: General Discussion

Was there yesterday and it was another awful day..the sheer amount of people just walking around smoking was as far as I'm concerned, disgraceful. At one point security was called to maelstrom because someone was smoking weed (smell was awful) but the security guard seemed more interested in teasing the ride attendant.

not good. really haven't enjoyed our last couple of visits at all.

It does seem I don't normally say this but the staff are the issue at Drayton Manor for slow ops and causing trouble management need to clamp down on staff for misbehaving

How busy was the park? They should have put umbrellas for staff to stand under.
I brought this up on Towers street years ago to have all weather queue lines in parks as the weather in the uk is either too hot or wet.

This unfortunately. Anti social behaviours have been rife this year and it’s ruining things for everyone else

There is some really great staff at the park but it just depends on what day you visit really. I will say though most of the time ive reported something about queue jumping etc nothing is really done about it, again really depends on the staff.

It unfortunately also gets worse this time of year too i could only wonder why 👀. They do seem to trying though a lot more security around this year.

We’ve had queue jumping before and our experience was on accelerator. Two kids pushed past my son and myself which upset my son. I told the gate staff and the boys got escorted from the ride which was nice to see. Unfortunately some people don’t have any thoughts. Our troubles have come from other guests more so than the park itself . On our last visit , a rude blogger made a comment about me and my son whilst stood next to us in the lady of the house room of the haunting. My son burst into tears (not because he was scared) and she made the comment that I was clearly forcing my child to be in a scary room. This spoiled our experience but in reality , my son was grieving. He’s just lost his Nan and it was her favourite ride that they would do together. He wanted to remember her and he cried because he said that nanny should be here to ride in with him.

Unfortunately as great as theme parks are, they do bring people from all different types of background and social abilities.

I am sick to death of bloggers, vloggers and youtubers thinking they can gatekeep these places for themselves.

The only way they can enforce this is a total ban on smoking and vapes inside the park.
It’s shocking even with the signage up how many people are smoking in Thomas land.
My OH vapes and would probably agree with you the same. She follows the rules. The park isn’t even that big. And in Thomas land you can literally nip out the park in like 45 seconds

At Walt Disney World at each park you got to leave the park and it’s out the front somewhere. If your caught CM inform guests that the smoking areas are outside the park, if u continue or caught again then you told to leave the park and you can’t go back in at any park that park. They scan your ticket to put a notice on your account and the 3rd time your tickets are cancelled. They should do the same with Annual passes and visitors at uk parks.
