Visited today and thought the sky complemented the rides name never seen the sky this grey when on park.

It'll be 3 years since they replaced the wood on the exit ramp and station next closed season, i wonder if they'll eventually get around to painting it all anytime soon. There's about 3 different colour schemes for the main building, feels extremely inconsistent. It's a shame because Maelstrom used to be a lovely themed ride and it's lost a lot of what made it special over the past decade.

I spotted what seems to be a certain familiar submarine entrance piece whilst having a look around the park on Google Earth, nearing on 10 years since this had been removed and still sat there! someone tell Victoria there's free theming in the back of the park!

Just seen online that maelstrom is running at reduced capacity and has introduced time slots

Even with a time slot, it was painful today. Only 11 seats, with 4 or 5 to the RAP queue so the main queue moved 6 people a cycle.

At this point, probably better to close until it’s fixed.

Anyone know what’s wrong with it? Something with the restraints?

Couple of weeks ago I asked and they said they were waiting for parts to arrive to fix the seats. Some of them keep locking as well, I went last week and got stuck in one seat and had to be rescued from it by the technicians

I suspect they've replcaed /upgraded (or retro fitted the new energy recovery thing) to the main mechanism? There was a great big cherry picker next to the ride a few weeks ago.

Maybe they're running in the new thing? New motors/engines on old rides need to be run in...

There's a new Gyroswing about to open in Blackpool soon - maybe DM are doing an upgrade to try and stay competitive?

attendant told me it was a problem with the seats and the stuff going on in iran is preventing the parts reaching this country.
